The Audi R10 TDI remains undefeated in the American Le Mans Series. In the seventh round at Mid-Ohio, Team Audi Sport North America achieved a commanding 1-2 victory in the LM P1 class. Emanuele Pirro (Italy) and Marco Werner (Germany) finished third overall missing the outright victory by just 15.073 seconds. Their team-mates Dindo Capello (Italy) and Allan McNish (Scotland) came home in fifth position and second in the LM P1 class.

Reigning champions Dindo Capello and Allan McNish scored extended their lead in the American Le Mans Series at Lime Rock (US state of Connecituct) scoring their fifth consecutive class win and thus retaining the 100 percent LM P1 category winning record of the Audi R10 TDI in its 15th race. Their team mates Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner finished fourth in the LM P1 class despite an unfortunate accident.

AUDI has continued its impressive series of victories in the Le Mans 24 Hour race in extremely difficult conditions. Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner repeated their success from last year thus giving Audi their seventh victory in the French endurance classic. For the second consecutive time, the Audi R10 TDI claimed victory. The revolutionary diesel sportscar from Ingolstadt remains unbeaten at Le Mans.

In the fight for the overall victory, Capello/McNish were only beaten by 1.341 seconds on the 1.7 mile city circuit at the "Reliant Park Stadium in Texas, achieving third place overall behind two lighter LM P2 category cars.

On the street circuit, Dindo Capello/Allan McNish recorded seventh place overall while their team-mates Emanuele Pirro/Marco Werner achieved second in the LM P1 category and ninth overall. Finishing ahead of the two Audi R10 TDI sports-prototypes were the 150 kilograms lighter LM P2 cars. After 10 outright ALMS victories, the 650 hp Audi R10 TDI suffered its first overall defeat since making its debut 13 months ago.
