Dindo Capello accepted the coveted trophies for himself and on behalf of team-mate Allan McNish last weekend at a ceremony in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Indianapolis (USA). "This award is indeed a great honour for Allan and I,” said the Italian on the stage in Indianapolis. "The AARWBA is of similar importance in the USA as the ‘Golden Helmet’ I was awarded in my home country Italy and which is the most important motorsport award there. To have won both awards shows me that 2006 really was an excellent year for Allan and I.”

The "All America Team” was elected for the 36th time by the AARWBA. Since 1970, performances mainly in American motorsport have been honoured. The majority of the award winners also originated from the USA on this occasion.
